May- June Oot n Aboot round up

Back in May it was really busy for the oot n aboot team attending various events across the community:

·        Elgin Bid Scottish Theme day across the Plainstones and St Giles shopping centre in Elgin

·        Portessie hall launched their community library as part of their open day

·        Friends of Portgordon Primary had a Rock N Roll bingo at the Portgordon Community Centre

·        The Arc Session ft Imar and James Macgregor at the Fochabers Institute

·        Gordon Castle Highland Games and Country Fair

·        Charlie and the Chocolate Factory tea party at the Gordon Castle Walled Garden Café

·        Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) Final at Buckie High

The team are really proud of Madysan who worked really hard to take us to the final and congratulations to the team who won for our friends at Clan.  This month has been busy wrapping down for the summer holidays including setting up our new recording facilities meanwhile the oot n aboot team have been to a few local events:

·        Dad’s Army Radio Hour at Portgordon Village Hall

·        Big Kid Circus at Gordon Castle Estate

·        El-Con (Elgin’s first comic con) at Elgin Town Hall

·        Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy

Spotlight hosted Moray’s Got Talent with a great selection of local talent with support from Music Tech Students at the Highfield Hall in Buckie High to raise money for our friends Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland Moray.  The grand total was an amazing £440!
